We were discussing the male (or female) gaze and how we should deal with it if we get high off it and Primrose suggested we start a thread.
Personally, I like being looked at. Glanced at would be more accurate. I was never aware of it as a young woman
( Not entirely true because Italian boys were notorious for flirting and making comments whenever I was on holiday. But they do that with all the girls so nobody takes it seriously. I certainly never believed they were being sincere about my looks or my desirability)
Maybe now it's my h's lack of attention or affection in public makes me want to get validation elsewhere. I don't normally 'act out' or flirt with a man that looks at me. I make it clear with my own behaviour when any gaze is inappropriate IMO.
I'd really would like to hear others' opinions on this and get a discussion going on our bottomlines in general.

I did this list almost a month ago
MY BOTTOMLINES 29 July 2010 1. I will not get involved in triangles of any kind.
2. If I am contacted by X I will contact my sponsor and make three outreach calls before deciding if and how I should respond.
3. I will not disclose personal details about my recovery except within the safe environment of a meeting or with fellows in recovery.
4. I will not hook people who I have no intention of dating, this includes “scanning’, intense eye contact, sexual innuendos, or sexually provocative clothing. No flirting online or IRL.
5. I will not play the role of victim in order to get attention or validation, particularly with men.
6. I will not ‘withdraw’ and isolate. I will contact my sponsor and make outreach calls every day.
7. I will not obsessively think about X or another person real or not. I may not have control over my first thought but I have choices about what my second thought may be. If I’m experiencing pain, suffering or struggling with this I will call my sponsor and make outreach calls to come clean.
8. I will not fantasize about being with poa or anyone else in a relationship now or in the future.
9. When I am feeling overwhelmed by my emotions I will centre myself until I feel I can deal with it .
